Terms and Conditions of Still Human Editions

1. Introduction
By submitting your works or purchasing publications through Still Human Editions, you expressly agree to the following terms and conditions. Still Human Editions is a publishing house dedicated to the publication of photographic books, magazines, and the promotion of contemporary photography.

2. Types of Publications

a. THE /// BOOK
THE /// BOOK is a line of printed photographic books published by Still Human Editions. The books in this line are open to submissions from photographers who agree to the following conditions when submitting their works. There is no digital version available.

b. [no context]
[no context] is a line of photographic books created exclusively by Still Human Editions. This line does not accept external submissions, with works being created solely by the publisher.

c. URBANVOID
URBANVOID is a quarterly urban magazine. It is open to submissions from photographers, and selected photographers will have their works published in the magazine. No compensation is provided for submissions.

d. GRAINCORE
GRAINCORE is another periodic publication focused on urban photography. It follows the same submission principles as URBANVOID but does not include special sections like interviews or paid features. No compensation is provided for submissions.

3. Submissions and Criteria

a. Submissions
Submissions for THE /// BOOK, URBANVOID, and GRAINCORE are open to all. Photographers can submit photographic works through the Still Human Editions website. All submissions must meet the technical and artistic criteria defined by the publisher. There are no fees for submitting photos to these publications.

b. Submissions for [no context]
No external submissions are accepted for the [no context] line. This project is exclusively created by the publisher.

4. Interview and Feature Payment Terms (URBANVOID only)

If you choose to participate in an interview (2 pages) or a feature spread (4 pages) in URBANVOID Vol. 01, the following terms apply:

Interview: $20
Feature Spread: $50

Payments must be securely made via credit card or PayPal through the Still Human Editions website. All payments are final and non-refundable. Once payment is completed, Still Human Editions will send you the set of questions for the interview or feature spread. You will have the opportunity to provide your responses, and the final version of your answers will be sent to you before publication for approval.

Please note that once your payment is processed, it is non-refundable under any circumstances. Still Human Editions will not provide refunds for any changes, cancellations, or dissatisfaction with the final content.

5. Response Time Requirement

To ensure we meet our deadline for URBANVOID Vol. 01, we require that you respond to the interview or feature questions within 3 days of receiving them. Failure to meet this deadline may result in your content not being included in the magazine.

6. Publication and Distribution Rights

By submitting your photos to Still Human Editions, you grant Still Human Editions the non-exclusive, irrevocable, and 5-year limited right to publish, distribute, display, and share your photos in physical publications (books and magazines) and on associated promotional platforms (website, social media, etc.). This right includes the use of your photos in print formats only.

7. Non-Modification Clause

Although Still Human Editions reserves the right to use your photos, they will not be modified in a way that alters their artistic integrity, except when necessary for publication format (cropping, resizing, adjusting resolution, etc.).

8. Photographer Credit

Still Human Editions commits to crediting the photographer by their name (first and last) when your photos are published in books, magazines, or on online platforms, unless this is technically impossible.

9. No Compensation

No compensation will be provided for photos submitted to Still Human Editions, whether for publication in THE /// BOOK, URBANVOID, GRAINCORE, or [no context]. The submission of photos is free and constitutes an agreement for publication without financial compensation.

10. Duration of the Agreement

The publication agreement is valid for a period of 5 years from the submission date. After this period, your photos will no longer be used by Still Human Editions, unless a request for extension or removal is made by the photographer.

11. Photo Removal

Photographers may request to remove their photos from the Still Human Editions website and social media platforms at any time during the duration of the agreement. To do so, a formal request must be submitted through the "CONTACT" section of the website. Once the removal request is validated, the photo will be removed as soon as possible. Still Human Editions will not be held responsible for the use of the photo before the removal request is processed.

12. Intellectual Property and Warranties

You guarantee that you are the exclusive copyright holder of the photos submitted to Still Human Editions and that these photos do not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights. In the event of any claims or disputes related to your photos, you agree to indemnify Still Human Editions against any legal action or claims.

13. Liability and Limitation of Liability

Still Human Editions will not be held liable for any loss or damage resulting from the use or inability to use the submitted photos, nor for errors or technical issues concerning the quality of the submitted photos.

14. Force Majeure

Still Human Editions will not be held responsible for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations if such failure or delay is caused by an event of force majeure, including but not limited to technical failures, power outages, strikes, natural disasters, or any other unforeseen event beyond its reasonable control.

15. Consent for Promotional Use

By submitting your photos, you also consent to Still Human Editions using your photos for promotional purposes (advertisements, flyers, social media, etc.). The use will be strictly associated with the promotion of Still Human Editions and its activities.

16. Newsletter Subscription

Still Human Editions may send you newsletters, updates, and promotional emails related to its publications. By submitting your photos, you have the option to opt-in or opt-out of these communications. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any newsletter or by contacting Still Human Editions via the "CONTACT" section on the website.

17. Personal Data

a. Data Collection
Still Human Editions collects and processes your personal data solely for the purpose of managing photo submissions and publications. This includes your name, contact details, and any other relevant data you provide during submission.

b. Purpose of Data Collection
Your data will be used for processing photo submissions, managing publications, sending newsletters, and promoting Still Human Editions.

c. Data Retention
We will retain your data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the objectives outlined above.

d. Data Security
We take appropriate measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

e. Your Rights

23. 18+ Content and Restricted Access

Certain publications, particularly in the [THE /// BOOK] or [no context] collections, may be classified as "18+" due to their explicit, violent, or potentially disturbing nature. No purely "adult" images will be displayed on the site, but the works may include sensitive photographs intended for an informed audience.

Before accessing these publications, you must confirm that you are legally permitted to view this type of content, in accordance with the laws of your country of residence. Access to these publications may be restricted to users confirming that they are 18 years old or older and accept the access conditions.

24. Jurisdiction and Governing Law

All submissions, contracts, and relationships resulting from the use of the site will be governed by French law. Any dispute related to these terms will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in Nanterre, France.

25. Terms and Conditions of The Gallery Solo Exhibition

A. Introduction

By submitting your work to "The Gallery Solo Exhibition," a monthly photography competition hosted by Still Human Editions, you agree to the following terms and conditions. This competition offers selected photographers the opportunity to be featured in the dedicated Gallery section of our website.

B. Eligibility

The competition is open to all photographers, both professional and amateur, regardless of geographic location, who are at least 18 years old.

C. Submission Fee

The entry fee for participation is $15 per submission. All fees are non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of the competition.

D. Submission Guidelines

Photographers must submit between 6 and 15 cohesive images forming a project or portfolio.
All images must meet the technical and artistic criteria outlined by Still Human Editions.
Submitted works must be original and owned by the photographer.

E. Selection Process

Submissions will be evaluated by an internal jury appointed by Still Human Editions.
The jury’s decision is final and cannot be contested.

F. Rights and Usage of Submitted Works

By submitting your work, you grant Still Human Editions the following rights:

Non-exclusive, irrevocable, and limited rights to display, promote, and share the submitted images for the purpose of the competition and related promotional activities.
Publication Rights: The winning portfolio will be featured in "The Gallery" section of the Still Human Editions website for one month and will remain accessible in the archives afterward.
Promotional Use: Images may be used for promotional purposes (social media, newsletters, etc.), always credited to the photographer.

Still Human Editions will not modify the artistic integrity of the submitted works except for resizing, cropping, or resolution adjustments necessary for publication.

G. Benefits for the Winner

A dedicated page in "The Gallery" showcasing the selected works, biography, artist statement, and contact links.
Promotion on Still Human Editions' social media channels.
Inclusion in the monthly newsletter sent to the platform’s audience.

H. Intellectual Property

Photographers retain full copyright of their submitted works. By participating, photographers warrant that they are the sole owners of the images and that the submissions do not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights.

I. Liability

Still Human Editions will not be held liable for any loss, damage, or unauthorized use of submitted works.

J. Non-Refundable Fees

All submission fees are final and non-refundable.

K. Withdrawal of Images

Photographers may request the removal of their images from the website or promotional materials at any time by contacting Still Human Editions. Requests will be processed as quickly as possible, but Still Human Editions cannot be held responsible for prior use of the images before the removal request is completed.

L. Jurisdiction and Governing Law

These terms are governed by French law. Any disputes will be resolved under the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Nanterre, France.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE — DELIVERY, SHIPPING, PAYMENT

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale define the payment, delivery, and shipping terms for the products offered by our Company. Any order placed constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these GTC.

26. PAYMENT
Payment Method: Payment is made exclusively by credit card.
Order Validation: The order is validated upon receipt of full payment.

27. SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
Delivery Areas
Products are shipped worldwide unless otherwise specified.
If a delivery restriction arises for a specific country, the Company reserves the right to cancel the order and contact the customer.

Shipping Method
Only standard delivery is available.
Shipping fees are calculated based on weight (in pounds) and the geographical delivery area.

Delivery Times
Delivery times range from 6 to 30 business days, depending on the destination country.
These times are indicative and may be extended in cases of force majeure.

Responsibility
The Company is not responsible for delays caused by the carrier or customs formalities.
In case of issues with receipt (delay, damaged package, etc.), the customer is encouraged to contact the Company as soon as possible.

29. OTHER PROVISIONS
Applicable Law: These GTC are governed by French law.
Returns, Subscriptions, Digital Versions: Not covered by these GTC.

By confirming the order, the customer declares having read and unreservedly accepted these General Terms and Conditions of Sale.
